Food & product information

Product descriptions, food labelling and claims for our matcha.

Pre-launch information: Online checkout is inactive. Final product labels and supplier documents must be checked before the products are offered for sale.

Product details

Shigatsu sells matcha powder as a food. Product pages describe the current profiles as Haru from Kumamoto, Japan (second flush) and Yu from Yame, Japan (first flush). Origin, harvest, ingredients, net quantity and any other product claims will be verified against the documents for the specific batch before sale.

Matcha is an agricultural product, so colour, aroma and flavour may vary naturally between harvests and batches. Product images are illustrative and do not replace the information on the package supplied with the order.

Food labels and allergens

Before sale, each product label and online listing will be checked against the applicable Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code and country-of-origin rules. Customers should read the current package for ingredients, allergen declarations, date marking, batch identification, storage directions, net quantity and origin information. Do not rely on a general website description where the current batch label gives more specific information.

If you have a food allergy or need to check a particular batch, contact us before ordering. The customer support contact will be published before checkout opens.

Claims and certifications

Claims such as “organic”, “vegan”, “dairy-free”, “non-GMO”, “halal”, “GMP”, or health and nutrition claims will only be used where the claim is accurate, supported by suitable evidence for that product and batch, and permitted for the way it is presented in Australia. A supplier’s certification or approval in another country does not by itself establish that the same claim is appropriate for Australian marketing.

Importer and recall readiness

Before selling imported matcha, we will retain supplier and batch records and confirm a practical food recall process. Importers are responsible for ensuring imported food meets applicable Australian requirements; food labelling and traceability obligations must be checked for the specific product and packaging.

Storage and use

Follow the storage and preparation directions on the current pack. If a product appears damaged, contaminated or incorrectly labelled, do not consume it; contact us once the customer service details are available. Consumer guarantees under Australian law continue to apply.
